Our Grant Guidelines

Teaching self-sufficiency is the cornerstone of our mission.
The purpose of The Whitney Foundation is to help fund and supplement those educational, health, and housing projects that bring about positive change in people's lives in Fresno County, California, the states of Utah and Idaho, and other areas.
The Whitney Foundation is dedicated to assisting others in bringing about permanent change in their lives so that they can become self-sustaining, confident, productive members of society.
We seek out those needs that often fall through the cracks of traditional grants.
The Whitney Foundation gives emphasis to those projects which:
- The constituents are actively involved in the work and benefit from the programs of the organization.
- The project promotes diversity, addresses inequality, oppression, and discrimination within the organization as well as in the larger society.
- The organization can demonstrate how their work addresses and attempts to change the underlying causes of the problem.
- The proposal expresses how it fits with the mission of The Whitney Foundation.
- The evaluation process clearly connects to project goals and objectives.
